Weizen / Weissbier style, Bavarian wheat beer, top fermented 5.4% alcohol, unfiltered and second fermented in the bottle. Hallertau hops, Perle, magnum. The term Weisse describes bottled beers with sediment (unfiltered) although Weizen (wheat) is also used. Both are synonyms in Bavaria and refer to wheat beers. Weihenstephan adds the term Hefe (yeast) to the name of his wheat beer. Very refreshing with a dense and full-bodied foam. The Weihenstephan Hefe Weiss: cloudy and amber in appearance due to the combination of yeast and the use of wheat in the preparation. It surprises with its strength due to its high Co2 content, due to the second fermentation in the bottle. Its abundant foam remains firm in the tall glass, releasing the aromas little by little. Its first drink gives us references to malted wheat, very refreshing due to its connotations of lemon and curaçao. Weihenstephan Hefe Weiss is a very refreshing beer, ideal as an aperitif or with fresh fish or shellfish, cooked mussels or clams and fresh, soft cheeses. It is also drunk during the typical Bavarian breakfast: white beer with white sausage (“Weisswurst”), mustard and “pretzel”.
